Discover the Tegernsee
Excursions around Bad Wiessee at Tegernsee
The Tegernsee Valley
Bavarian King Max the First appreciated the valley, and declared in 1817 that the former Benedictine Monastery would be the summer residence of the Munich court. The lake became known as a sought-after tourist destination throughout Europe thanks to this connection. With the view over the lake and through the valley, it forms a gateway to the northern Alpine valley from the north, and coming from the south, the view of the upper Bavarian cultural landscape opens up at the end of the Tegernsee valley. Let yourself be enchanted by the lake and its charm. Be it winter or summer, Tegernsee is worth a visit at any time of year.
