Tegernsee during the summer

Excursion destinations in the Tegernsee area during the summer

Summer holiday

The Tegernsee region is known as one Germany’s oldest relaxation areas for good reason. As early as the 19th century, summer visitors from the Munich court came here to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and the picturesque panorama. This combination is still enticing people to spend their holidays at Tegernsee to this day. Anyone who wishes to enjoy the summer being active is in the right spot with us. Bad Wiessee is surrounded by perfectly maintained mountain and hiking trails, the bathing conditions are excellent, there are perfect tennis courts, an iodine sulphur health spa, two golf courses, equestrian centres as well as a casino, nightclubs, theatres and concert halls.

Its unique location at the edge of the Alps makes Tegernsee a unique location. Embedded between the foothills of the surrounding mountains, the lake is secluded. You always feel secure and at home on its shores. Because of its attractiveness, Tegernsee is regarded by many as Germany’s most beautiful lake. You can enjoy carefree bathing with a view of the mountains here. Sailing and paddling with a boat or a paddle board is the ideal way to spend a beautiful summer’s day with the entire family.

Hiking tours

If you wish to explore Upper Bavaria on foot, Tegernsee is the perfect place. You can hike on over 300 kilometres of marked trails, educational hiking trails and mountain trails, on gentle forest trails and go on rocky mountain tours. The 1,722 metre high Wallberg at Rottach-Egern and the 1,686 metre high Hirschberg in Kreuth are a must for any true mountaineering enthusiast. You can start your hiking tour directly from our hotel, and spend the day wandering around the picture-book landscape. The quaint huts and inns next to the hiking trails will invite you in to stop for a snack.
